What. A. Book.
Just wow.
I read a fantasy book after quite some time and this one didn't disappoint at all. The author has such beautiful way of writing. The words had flown like magic. Enough to hook a reader to the book while reading.
I dreamed with the Dreamer. Gripped my seat at anxious moments. And was at awe at magical ones.
That's the way it was written.

Coming to the plot of the book. I cannot describe enough how phantasmagorical it was.
Firstly, I don't know how I forgot what the prologue even was as soon as I stepped inside the story.
As a protagonist, I knew Lazlo Strange was special. Special in every way. Him being connected to Weep's story so deeply. The Metal reacting to him. And his ability to "see" Sarai when she visits.
So him turning out to be Godspawn wasn't much of a surprise for me. But him turning out to be Swathi's son! Well. That got me.
Weep's story is so magical. The Gods/Godspawn and their powers. The white bird. The citadel.
And Eril-Fane's delegates too. It was very funny how Drave's one little mischievous doing caused so much to happen. So much chaos. Such apocalypse. And an unexpected death. I'm not sure how I forgot the Prologue, and the fact that it contained a huge spoiler.
Rasalas is alive again, through the power of Swathi's son.
And Muse of Nightmares is dead.

I'm not much of a romance lover, but I must admit I cried when Lazlo roared with despair. I gave in when Eril-Fane finally sobbed, looking at the pale body of his daughter, whom he never got a chance to know.
Lazlo and Sarai finally met in person. But with one turned into a God and the other into a Ghost.
What a twisted, painful story.

And the way it ended, with Minya challenging Lazlo. Lazlo, her half brother, Swathi's son who can now control everyone with his newly discovered power, but is very helpless in front of Minya, as she can control Sarai's soul whom Lazlo cannot lose at any cost. It seemed like a game of chess. With both playing cautiously to checkmate the other.

And now many questions remain unanswered.
What had happened with Lazlo? How did a Godspawn ended up among the orphans of Zosma?
What is the significance of the white bird?
Where did the gods come from? How did they get their powers?
What did they do with the 1000s other Godspawn which they conceived? Are they even alive? If yes, then what happened to them all?
And most importantly, with Sarai dead and Minya planning to play a game, what is going to happen to them all?
Well, I guess we will find that out in the Muse Of Nightmares!
