Days of Blood & Starlight (Daughter of Smoke & Bone #2) By  Laini Taylor My Rating: 5 Genre: YA, Fantasy Finished on: 1st Nov, 2019 This book was a sad one. Really. For starters, I have already written in my previous reviews about how amazing the writing of the author is. So I need not mention again how the writing is not just amazing, but truly beautiful, magical, phantasmagorical and whatever adjective fits! Simply. Magical. Coming to the story of the book, like I mentioned at the beginning, it was sad. It began and ended with a different sort of sadness and torment. The entire book was like that. Full of anguish, pain, longing, and a void which was present throughout the book. Akiva and Karou are separated in the beginning. Karou, back to her previous world, Eretz. She found there exactly what she had been dreading to see. Land full of ashes of her entire race. All of her family gone. Brimstone gone. While Akiva has returned to his place as well, he returns with a ...

Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone #1)

Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone #1) by   Laini Taylor   My Rating: 5/5 Genre: Fantasy, YA Finished on: 25th Oct, 2019 One word. Amazing. Just that. Amazing. This author isn't failing to surprise me at all. There wasn't a single page since the start where I wasn't gripped by the story and wondered what's happening. Honestly. What's happening?! So this girl, Karou, sketches about weird creatures and not only they turn out to be real, but they are ALSO her family. How did a human end up amidst all of this? Why is she working for a creature, who isn't even of her kind, without even knowing what exactly is she working for? Collecting teeth? From random, strange, creepy people? What exactly is going on?? And another being appears, Akiva - a Seraph (squeals with excitement remembering Strange The Dreamer), who apparently plans to close all the portals which connects Brimstone to this world. From Akiva's perspective, it felt like he was d...

Muse of Nightmares (Strange the Dreamer #2)

Muse of Nightmares (Strange the Dreamer #2) By   Laini Taylor My Rating: 5 Genre: YA, Fantasy Finished on: 15th Oct, 2019   If I mentioned the first book as phantasmagorical, then I'm not sure which adjective will perfectly suit this sequel. I have no words. Seriously. Reading this duology was such a beautiful and magical journey. And an anxious one too. The first book was merely tip of the ice berg, the sequel deepened into the vast ocean of the story. Which will make anyone sit at the edge of their seat. The one thing which I deeply empathized with this story was how the author explains how anyone, and I mean ANYONE, can turn into a foe at the cost of their loved one. When the lives of their loved one is at stake. From Eril-Fane to Minya to Novali. How the suffering, the torment and demise of their loved one can break you so much, that you don't even notice or care about how much they are in turn breaking the others. Literally. I didn't really blame Eril-fane in S...

Strange The Dreamer (Strange the Dreamer #1)

Strange The Dreamer (Strange the Dreamer #1) By  Laini Taylor My Rating: 4 Genre: YA, Fantasy Finished on: 9th Oct, 2019 What. A. Book. Just wow. I read a fantasy book after quite some time and this one didn't disappoint at all. The author has such beautiful way of writing. The words had flown like magic. Enough to hook a reader to the book while reading. I dreamed with the Dreamer. Gripped my seat at anxious moments. And was at awe at magical ones. That's the way it was written. Coming to the plot of the book. I cannot describe enough how phantasmagorical it was. Firstly, I don't know how I forgot what the prologue even was as soon as I stepped inside the story. As a protagonist, I knew Lazlo Strange was special. Special in every way. Him being connected to Weep's story so deeply. The Metal reacting to him. And his ability to "see" Sarai when she visits. So him turning out to be Godspawn wasn't much of a surprise for me. But him turning out to be Swathi...
