Jane Eyre

Jane Eyre By   Charlotte Brontë My Rating: 4 Genre: Classics, Historical Fiction Finished on: 18th Jun, 2020 Every time I pick up a classic, I always vow to read it with determination, aiming not to take pauses in between and suddenly go into hiatus.  So when I started Jane Eyre, I almost,  almost  kept up to that promise, until Idk what happened and I ended up taking a break :'D But I'm glad I read it, and finished it. I had taken about 6+ months to read Emma, and even this one pretty much took that much time considering I started reading this in Jan.  But the point is. I read it. And I liked it!  Yes, I admit the classic writing is way different than the present contemporary one. And the plot is not so much different than the other classics. There's a girl, and the story-line more or less revolves around love, women and marriage.  But this woman, this Jane Eyre, her character impressed me.  I don't call myself a feminist, but I d...

Cold Heart

Cold Heart By Lynda La Plante My Rating: 3 Genre: Mystery Thriller Finished on: June 16th, 2020 Okay.. What genre was this book, mystery? Or Philosophy?  What was the ending even about?  The death of the protagonist herself, Lorraine Page?!?  (Yep, sorry for the spoiler) And that was the "ultimate" punishment of her life?? Philosophy much? There was no proper justice at all, at least not by the end of book anyway.  Okay. Breathe.  I'll come from beginning.  Like any other mystery book, this started off with an interesting note. Somebody dies. There are two three suspects. And then it got SUPER boring when the suspicions were revolving around 3 main people! Kendall, Vallence, Sonja. Poor Cindy dies, Kendall dies and with utter shock we come to know even Raymond Vallence dies!  Not sure why Cindy had to die, I expected something much worse happened with Cindy that she simply let herself get killed by someone else. But by the end we come to know it ...

Innocent

Innocent By   Scott Turow My Rating: 4 Genre: Mystery, Thriller Finished on: 4th Jun, 2020 Wow! Good one. I've read mystery books with perspective of a detective, police, but this was completely in view of a lawyer. In view of law!  I honestly enjoyed reading throughout. I had my assumptions and wanted very badly to know if I was right..  I wasn't though :'D I suspected it to be murder. And for Anna to be the murderer, while Rusty is trying very hard to defend her.  You ask me why? Because.. Idk. There was absolutely no role of her as soon as the trial started. So I suspected maybe the author  doesn't  want us to think of her, when she has been the culprit all along?  And I thought it kinda makes sense. Barbara knows about the relationship, and Anna very badly wanted Nat and her relationship to not break whatsoever. So maybe she decided to remove her from the path, so that none of that happens?  Even the computer card, they subtly menti...
