Paper Towns
By John Green
My Rating: 2
Genre: YA, Contemporary

The thing about John Green's books are, apart from his Awesome 'quotes' in between the pages of his book, I find nothing worth reading at all. Look at Paper Towns. Basically half the book was about 'Searching Margo'. First I was like, okay. Margo's gone. Q wants to search her as he thinks Margo wants him to search her. I never gave a thought the WHOLE book would be about searching her. Its not 'Looking For Alaska', its 'Looking for Margo', really. Apart from that? Q, I don't care about your IM'ing your friends. I don't care how much you like 'The Resurrection' game. I don't care who has whom for their dates for Prom. Give me a story Q, a story. Okay, my apologies. I read the book. There comes a quote, "Paper people living in Paper Houses, burning the future to stay warm." and another in the beginning, "She loved mysteries so much that she became one". I'm like, Yes! Go John Green. You rock with your awesome books. I read the whole book and starts recalling about what I liked and What I didn't. And as the book is done, always like any other John Green books the explanation of the book's title is given in the final pages. And I just nod. The drawback? Its just a one time read. I can't take the book again enjoy it like the first read. I know where Margo is and why she left, I won't care again, about his school, his prom, their dates, their missing their graduation ceremony just because they think their friend might be attempting suicide and God knows even why.. I won't care. My apologies again. But this was a disappointment. P.S - Anybody finds my review offensive, do inbox me with any moral hidden in this story which I might have missed reading. As you see, I read this book only at those times when I was too sleepy to read anything. |
