Well, Well. I don't know whether its just me or many other people, who.. by any chance know they're gonna read a book/series which they're not THAT interested in, yet they want to read. Mainly because you're a fiction reader nerd. Secondly you wanna know actually WHAT happens, or.. because of the author. Because you know even if the book is not much of your interest, the author's way of penning it down will surely hook you up. And also for the fact that, even if the book is about 1000 pages, there might be at least ONE page which will have THAT ONE line in which THAT ONE PHRASE, will make you fall in love with book.
Am telling all this, because this series/book was one of those kind.

I remember writing in the last line of Clockwork Princess's review of mine on this site, that I won't touch TMI and TID series ever again if Cassie kills Magnus. Well, now this is bothering me why I had thought of such a thing as.. Well, I'll let you come to know later on this review.

I was just done with my exams and was excited to read this book and complete the series so badly that I couldn't wait. I spammed every Shadowhunter's blog on tumblr as to not disclose any spoilers, even if you do it, just let me know before I read/see whatever that is. Thankfully, they obliged <3 🎔

Now, about the book.. It was the same, the story of Clary, Jace, Sebastian, Izzy, Alec, Magnus and Simon. Cassandra made the first half of it boring to me. There were parts where I was absolutely disgusted and paused for a while to ponder over whether I should be considering to resume reading or not. The only thing I ever cared in this book was Magnus, first and foremost. My affection for him is itself unknown to me. All I thought was whether Cassie would be killing him or not. Who would die? Who wouldn't? These question were chewing me all the time. She killed few/many Shadowhunters and Downworlders, yet I didn't care (Look, How evil I am) . There were parts where it made no sense to me as to why I was shedding my tears, I don't know.. But,I did. But more than this was the fear of Magnus.. Oh, Magnus.

Secondly, I cared about Jem a.k.a Brother Zachariah. From Clockwork Princess it was pretty easy to predict that Jem is now back a Shadowhunter again, and even mortal. But, how he was cured, was revealed in this book. And honestly the instant that scene appeared.. Clary and Jace fighting the Citadel war, Shadowhunters and Endarkened dying, Clary being dragged to Sebastian by Amatis, Brother Zachariah present there too, fighting.. Jace duelling with Sebastian.. his 'Heavenly Fire' burning him and Seb down, Seb's flight.. Zachariah tryin' to help.. the heavenly fire.. THE HEAVENLY FIRE FREAKING CURED JEM. I fangirled so bad, SO BAD. It was as if the happy ending was right in front of me and I can stop reading the book. Coz, Jem was mortal again. <3 💓
But, of course I had to resume, the little part of me was still curious as to what would happen next, how would Sebastian be defeated. Who would else die.. And when would be the time when Jem and Tessa are together again. <3 When? And whether Magnus would die?

The story goes on, Cassandra unites the ties between werewolves and vampires ( :P ) and reveals the betrayal of the fairy folk. She also introduces the Carstairs and Blackthorn's family [ The names gave me a sad thud in the heart ] and how ADORABLE they were. Helen, Mark, Julian, Livia, Tiberius, Drusilla and Tavvy. Too adorable. I salute their strength in the book, whatever they had faced/were facing/will be facing.

The excitement started again when finally came the time that they would be encountering Sebastian. And in those particular moments of my reading, I just checked on tumblr and well..
Saw a spoiler.
It was Simon. The gif's of Simon and Izzy, Simon and Clary and I didn't see the rest as in those two gif's Simon's image was transparent, as If he was there and gone. I knew it then Simon was the one included among those who were going to die. I cursed myself. Now, I forgot Magnus and all I thought was about Simon. Jace being the male protagonist never really mattered to me. But, Simon.. I realized probably after Magnus he was the person with the BEST sense of humor. And I started sobbing. This started to become a Clockwork Princess part 2 for me, couldn't digest this at all. I decided for the third time not to continue reading the book, but I also wanted to know how he would die, if he was dying.. So I went on thankfully.
Skipping the rest boring parts on this review and coming to the point, Clary kills Seb [That part was actually emotional when Seb turns to Jonathan and presents how he would have been to Clary and Jocelyn if Valentine hadn't fed demon blood inside him. And died. I would have asked Clary to
kill Valentine twice if he was still alive. Nevermind. ]

Now came the time. They were in the demon realms, story of Magnus's father was revealed here. Asmodeus, one of the nine princes of hell, was his father. Evil demon father. And he asked them to pay some price for getting back to earthly life. The price was Magnus's life. Not exactly.. but his immortality. Which would probably kill him as he was more than 400 years old!
This is it, I had thought. Cassandra is finally killing him. And you've no idea how a little part of me was glad about it. I don't know why. I realized later, though.
The climax was Simon stood up and sacrificed his immortality as he was anyway Seventeen years old and he won't die, and also he hated being a vampire. But that demon took the price of Simon's memories he ever had with the Shadow world, to add some spice, breaking Clary's and Izzy's heart.
Now, I had understood the gif, Simon was THERE and GONE at the same time. Foolish me. I started sobbing again. A part of me was relieved too as he didn't die. But c'mon this was equal to having Harry wake up in the cupboard under the stairs after the series and everything he experienced was all just.a.dream! Scary. Horrific.

Clary was devastated and so was I. Even if they had a victory and with the whole Shadow world rejoicing.. Clary was devastated, and so was I. She stated every reason to be devastated for, and sobbed, I accompanied her. However, Cassie just furnished the end parts and tried to make it a happy ending.. With the Epilogue.
I hate epilogues.
As they are always unpredictable. Especially since Clockwork Princess! *flinch*
But this epilogue covered almost everything from the snippets which Cassie had published.
I had heart attacks in this. Summing up whole, Simon was somehow gaining back his memories [WHICH MADE ME LEAP OFF AND FALL FROM MY CHAIR I WAS READING ON. I FANGIRLED SO HARD] . Which obviously brightened up Izzy and Clary's emotional thoughts. Simon didn't remember everything at once, but he gradually tried to gain them back. Cassie just left a smile on the readers for this, hope, smile of hope.

It happened in Luke And Jocelyn's wedding. And in that wedding were two guests which I was eagerly waiting for. Tessa Gray and James Carstairs.
The moment I read their names I took a deep breath and gave out a distressful sigh. The one you would give after running a scale of miles in gym and returning home expecting nothing else than coffee to be served. Closing your eyes, holding the cup, and giving the sigh. As if it the was the only thing you needed at that time.
It again comes back to Clockwork Princess. Tessa was immortal, and so was Jem, in a way. They both loved Will, saw him age and die. Tessa left as she couldn't bear watching her children and grand children age and die in front of her too. Jem suffered too. Suffered the absence of the company of Tessa and Will. All those dark years.
And now they were together. Holding hands, watching Tessa's great great and no idea how many great's grand children in that party. Watching Jace playing the piano and wondering whether Emma Cordiela Carstairs [I think that's the name] would be playing violin in the near future, like how Jem used to play in that beautiful past.
The happiness in their voice just filled me with content. As if the hole which Cassie had punched in my heart during Clockwork Princess was filled in this book, the incompletenss was complete, the hollowness was sealed. there couldn't have been a better ending.

However, I always find ways to grieve in every book. Cassie made or rather tried it to be a happy ending. Jace, Clary, Simon, Izzy, Alec and Magnus watching the stars. And how beautiful the sky was.
But, the future isn't shown. Magnus was immortal and his loved one mortal. Now this was the reason I wished it was better if he had died. There will surely come a time when Magnus would see Alec age and die. He suffered so much in his living 400 years, how more? Unless he dies before Alec somehow. That would be pure evil, though.
What about Tessa? Tessa and Jem were off to Los Angeles to look after the Blackthorn and Carstairs family. [ :') ] . But.. Jem is MORTAL and Tessa aint! There would AGAIN come a time when she would watch Jem age and die, unless Tessa dies before him [ again pure evil]. But If Jem dies before her, Will Magnus be alive to support Tessa? Hold her and soothe her as he had done during Will's time? Will he? Cassie just left all that for us to imagine their fates. So pure evil.

I ended the book, with relief, frustration and longing. Relief to end the series finally. Frustration as for unpredictable fates of Tessa and Magnus [Maybe I'll come to know them in TDA] and longing for the release of the Dark Artifices [TDA] which would be the story of Julian and Emma's struggle in the Shadow World. That how I am going to phrase it! If, hopefully, I read it.

P.S- In my Pdf the book had ended on the page 444, my favorite number <3 That put a smile on me as I turned off the lights and headed to bed thinking about how to breathe Oxygen again.
