I don't know whether its just me or many other people, who.. by any chance know they're gonna read a book/series which they're not THAT interested in, yet they want to read. Mainly because you're a fiction reader nerd. Secondly you wanna know actually WHAT happens, or.. because of the author. Because you know even if the book is not much of your interest, the author's way of penning it down will surely hook you up. And also for the fact that, even if the book is about 1000 pages, there might be at least ONE page which will have THAT ONE line in which THAT ONE PHRASE, will make you fall in love with book. Am telling all this, because this series/book was one of those kind.
