The Time Machine

Image
The Time Machine by   H.G. Wells My Rating: 3/5 Genre: Sci Fi, Dystopia Finished on: 20th June, 2021 Funny thing about this book is, as I kept reading, I felt the story was way too familiar. Almost as if I anticipated what was coming already. How could that be? I have not read this book before. Did I dream all of it at some point? Am I a psychic? Only.. for me to find out (after Google search), that it has been adapted to a movie which I have already seen . Honestly, I felt so stupid. Although I have seen it years ago (which justifies why I did not immediately remember) but having not being able to recognize while I read is very.. stupid of me. Anyway, I remember enjoying the movie. Not in the sense that it was a great story, but it was definitely unique. Not a typical "Time Machine" story. So I knew what to expect from the book.  But did I enjoy reading it now..? Let me tell you that. ——————————————————- Initially it took me some time to understand what's going on...

The Storm

The Storm By  Clive Cussler ,   Graham Brown My Rating: 5/5 Genre: Adventure, Sci Fi Finished on: 8th June, 2021 The Storm By Clive Cussler and Graham Brown This was my first book from the authors Clive Cussler and Graham Brown, and this was one of those books I bought randomly having no context of the genre, and didn't once regret! I had not tried Adventure books before, but once I finished this one, I planned to give all the others a try, this one was that great :D Although this is fictional, I'm not even sure if half the adventurous stuff performed could be done in reality, but nevertheless I thoroughly enjoyed them all. And even the characters :'D Let's dive in.  ____________ This book started with a prologue, which didn't make much sense in the beginning.  It's the year 1943, and Captain Alan Pickett is trying to make his ship survive as the captain doesn't want the enemies to take over the cargo they are carrying, but the enemies around are trying har...

Story of Your Life

Story of Your Life By  Ted Chiang My Rating: 5/5 Genre: Sci Fi Finished on: 23rd May, 2021 The Story Of Your Life By Ted Chiang   One fine day me and my sister were choosing which movie to watch on weekend, and as anyone might guess from reading this review, it was the Arrival. Which is based on this book. I watched the movie, loved every bit of it, and there was absolutely no way I was missing out on a chance to read the book upon finding out the movie was based on it. So, here we are.  I had always been fascinated with time travel theories. And the concept in this one simply blew my mind. This book didn't just mess with time, but it ALSO made us all realize the beauty of being multi lingual. It introduced the concept of Sapir Whorf hypothesis! Or in other words Linguistic Relativity. Just. Simply. Amazing. ____________ There were slight differences in the book and movie.  In the movie we had to use our brains to find out what's really happening. But, in ...
