Shadow And Bone (The Shadow and Bone Trilogy #1)

Shadow And Bone (The Shadow and Bone Trilogy #1) By  Leigh Bardugo My Rating: 5 Genre: YA, Fantasy Finished on: 26th Aug, 2020 Entering into another fantasy world created by Leigh Bardugo. Started this after finishing the Six of Crows duology (or Trilogy?) and now I'm wondering maybe I should have first started with this one. I would have focused more when Genya, Alina and other Grishas were mentioned in Six of Crows.  But, anyway.  Let's get inside the story 😉 So Alina Starkov and Malyen (Mal) Oretsev are two best friends. Inseparable.  They were living in an orphanage of Duke Keramsov. And were taken care by Ana Kunya.  In the beginning it's shown how they both are tested to see if they are Grisha. To see if they too have some hidden power.  As kids, they are pretty much excited.  But turned out they both are normal after all. And they carried on with their lives.  If only.  Let's fast forward to the present. Alina and Mal are not ki...

Over The Edge

Over The Edge By Suzanne Brockmann My Rating: 4 Genre: Contemporary, Mystery Finished on: 7th Aug, 2020 When I picked up this one, I was very intrigued by the book's description. Senior Chief Stanley (Stan) Wolchonok and Navy Pilot Teresa (Teri) Howe have a very friendly relationship, that is, until they are dragged in a situation where a plane has been Hijacked AND US Senator's daughter is in that plane! A very interesting plot, isn't it?  Here's what my expectations were: the entire story would be about how they are planning/strategising their moves regarding the rescue mission. Listing out the challenges, portraying how grave this mission is, etc etc With a little bit of their love story in between  If only. *facepalm* The story starts with Stan coming to know Teri is being harassed by a guy, and she simply is not able to get that guy off of her. And I'll admit, the way Stan had been handling this situation, and helping Teri in overcoming her fears and helping...

Crooked Kingdom (The Six of Crows Trilogy #2)

Crooked Kingdom (The Six of Crows Trilogy #2) By Leigh Bardugo My Rating: 5 Genre: Fantasy, YA Fiction Finished on: 4th Aug, 2020 Sigh. What do I tell?  Another duology ended, and by the time I reached the last page, I was not having enough strength to let these characters go.  It ended so beautifully, I couldn't decide whether I should cry or I should definitely cry.  I did the latter.  I'll admit, I found most of the book a bit slow. In the first one they had a purpose, an impossible heist to achieve. Breaking though the ice court, stealing an important and valuable hostage from Fjerdans and escaping in one piece.  What was this book going to be about?  Saving Inej, having revenge from Van Eck and Pekka, and what else?  These were going to be the important events of the book, and I desperately waited for them to come up.  But Leigh had me waiting for quite a bit of time.  Quite a long bit of time.  So in the beginning it was bit ...
